Monica Wong

MSW, RSW, HBCE

Monica Wong is a counselor, hypnotherapist and HypnoBirthing educator. She is also the president of the Alberta Clinical Hypnosis Society, is a registered social worker and has her Masters in Clinical Social Work. Her work with clients is goal focused and she enjoys weaving in humour, hypnotic language and metaphors into all her therapeutic modalities, from EMDR to CBT to hypnotherapy.

About Monica Wong

 Monica Wong, MSW, RSW was raised on the island of Oahu. Although no longer living in Hawaii, she brings with her the spirit of Aloha and dedication to helping others in Calgary.  Monica works with individuals of all ages and is particularly fond of working with couples (she focused her graduate degree on couples work, as well as published an article in the international journal, Contemporary Family Therapy on pre-marital inventories for couples).

Monica utilizes various therapy modalities, from EMDR to EFT to CBT. Her specialty is in clinical hypnosis and hypnosis for fertility and childbirth. She has received over 200 hours of training in clinical hypnosis (100 of which included training with world-renowned clinical psychologist and hypnotherapist, Dr. Yapko). She is also the President of the Alberta Clinical Hypnosis Society and is teaching faculty with the American Association of Clinical Hypnosis.

Monica is also a certified HypnoBirthing® instructor. She has personal experience with the techniques, giving birth to her last two children peacefully, thanks in large part to hypnosis.

Monica Wong has dedicated herself to learning and growing as a practitioner, having attended trainings with industry experts, from Dr.Yapko, author of multiple renowned books on clincal hypnosis, to Dr.Burns, the author of Feeling Good, a stable in the counselling industry. Monica has taught classes for 10 years and recently joined ASCH faculty, teaching clinical hypnosis to mental health and medical professionals in North America. She is also the President of the Alberta Clinical Hypnosis Society.
